Reviews of Wading Nine from Industry Representatives:
CHRIS AND AIMEE KURTZ (Media Twist/Live Nation):
Time machine steam punk look. Vocals Dio like-Mushroomhead. Buckethead vibe. Love your look
stand out. Arrangement weird-key changes. Loved your energy, love your look.
EBONY JEANNETTE (EJ PR):
Interesting look and sound, curious to hear recordings behind band. Radio friendly,
great melody, chord progressions. I would suggest more crowd working on stage to make the look really pop too. Second to last song was really good.
Captured essence of hard rock really well.
MATT LAPLANT (Producer):
This is good, I love the music, the production is good. I’d love to see it taken to another
level.
KENNY COLGATE (Eclipse):
Full sound for 3 piece. Interesting songs-good melodies.
Matt Coe: Dead Rhetoric
While the scheduled door-time for 7 pm came and went, the venue actually opened at a reasonable 7:15 pm –
the first of three local openers Wading Nine from the Hudson Valley coming to the stage at 7:30pm.
A three-piece act that opened with a taped intro piece and possess additional stage lighting and fog machine
action for maximum effect, the bassist Mike Miller also wore a gas mask throughout the set.
Musically the band go for an alternative hard rock meets grunge sound, almost sitting in that line
between 90’s Seattle scene (think Alice in Chains) and a bit of the modern side of Disturbed and
Breaking Benjamin for their influences. They delivered a solid set of material that went over surprisingly well
considering all the old-school minded people in the audience (loads of Priest, Dio, and Maiden shirts for sure).
Frank Piercy: Northeast Rock Review
The first band on the bill is band from this neck of the woods, a three piece outfit called Wading Nine.
On guitar and vocals is Eric Sagarin, with Ryan Delmolino on drums and a masked Mike Miller on bass.
Definitely a bunch of guys with drive and a unique sound, with influences ranging from Alice In Chains,
Marilyn Manson, Breaking Benjamin, Nine Inch Nails to Asking Alexandria and Disturbed. A solid set
with their own light set up. These guys are hungry.
Their music has been described as Progressive Metal/ Alternative Rock with heavy post industrial synth-lines. Influences range from bands like Asking Alexandria, Animals as Leaders, Red sun rising, BMTH, Alice in Chains, NIN, and Manson. Seamlessly blending these styles mixed with vivid metaphors and unique lyrics. Nine kicks out a fluid heavy sound with subtle nuances that creates a genre of music that is hard to define.
